Join a Parent and Child Gym Class!

If you have a youngster at home and are looking for a way to get out of the house and have some fun, why not get involved in a parent-child activity? There are a number of options for you to enjoy together.

Many local gyms, fitness centers, recreation areas, churches, and community centers offer programs for parents and children. Choose from Parent and Kid Gymnastics, Music Classes, Yoga, and much more.

The classes help your children get exercise and develop cognitive skills. These are important to growth and learning for youngsters. Kids need exercise to keep healthy and advance from crawling to walking to running and climbing. And, they need their cognitive skills to reason and process the information they learn.

The activities also promote social development for your child and adult interaction for you. There are parents for you to relate with, while the kids enjoy playing with others their age. Giving your child experience around people at a young age will allow them to become more comfortable with the idea. When it comes time for school, the shock factor will be lessened. Plus, time out of the house beats sitting in trying to entertain a 2 year old all by yourself. Take them to an hour gym class and see how much better they will nap after!
